50 Cent is a fan not only of Taylor Swift’s recent shoutout on her The Life of a Showgirl album, but also of her relationship with three-time Super Bowl champ Travis Kelce.

In an interview with Extra’s Mona Kosar Abdi, Fif, who also recently sat down with Jordan Rose for Complex, was asked about the personal importance of Taylor’s decision to mention him on the Showgirl track “Ruin the Friendship.” As fans are aware, Swift cites an unnamed “50 Cent song” as playing in the background of a would-be romantic moment from her past.

“It really is cool because when she makes the reference, if you listen to the song, it’s to what was going on in culture at that time,” 50 told Extra. “The music, you couldn’t miss it at that point. And that’s why it was cool to me. The shoutout is the shoutout, but what she was making reference to is the period that no one was more prominent in music at that point. So it’s exciting to have that. And then, I like her boyfriend too. I like the team. I like KC. I like the whole thing.”

The “boyfriend” in question, of course, is Kelce. He and Swift announced their engagement in August, the same month the singer rolled out her Showgirl album.

Asked if he likes them together, 50 confirmed that he did, all while tucking in a dig at Kelce’s former romantic partner. While 50 didn’t mention anyone by name, one could argue that this was intended as a reference to Kayla Nicole, to whom Kelce was romantically linked for about five years starting in 2017.

“I like it a lot better than the last thing he had going on,” 50 said. ‘It’s a lot better.”

There’s also another possible target here. After the Nicole years came to a close, the Kansas City Chiefs star was rumored to have briefly dated Zuri Hall. The reporter and TV personality, however, later denied such claims.

At this point, it should go without saying that 50 Cent is quite fond of offering his take on all manner of developments in the pop culture zeitgeist. Just this week, for example, he chimed in amid Nicki Minaj’s continued trolling of Jay-Z, letting fans know “I like when she get mad.” Previously, he spoke out about Nicki’s feud with Cardi B.
