50 Cent Cites Ye, Nicki Minaj as Examples of Why He Tries to 'Stay Away' From Religion and Politics

"That's how Kanye f*cked up," Fif said.

50 Cent, who rarely meets a topic he doesn’t immediately chime in on with an Instagrammed quip, has cited Ye and Nicki Minaj as examples of why he tries to avoid religion and politics.

The remarks, noticeably at odds with some of Fif’s 2025 IG activity, were delivered at the West Hollywood premiere of the upcoming film Moses the Black. 50 is a producer on the Omar Epps-starring project, which also counts Chukwudi Iwuji and Wiz Khalifa among its cast.

At the event, the G-Unit Film & Television founder praised the Yelena Popovic-directed title as an “amazing project,” adding that it was important for him “not to make it about religion” and to instead focus on the “entertainment” of the experience.

“The subtext is strong,” he said of the film.

From there, he made a more general statement about religion and politics, name-checking Nicki and the artist formerly known as Kanye West in the process.

“There’s two things they tell you to stay away from,” 50 told those in attendance, as seen in a video shared by reporter Alyssa Brook Lee. “They tell you to stay away from religion and stay away from politics, because no matter what you think, someone passionately disagrees with you. I stay away from those things. That’s how Kanye fucked up. Then, Nicki said some shit. You know, it feels crazy, but it is very accurate.”

50, to be clear, has not strictly stayed away from politics. Still, as he told Complex in an interview with Jordan Rose last year, he does believe he has “conditioned” his audience to accept certain things from him that they might not accept from other public figures.
