The Weeknd and Marvel Announce 'Starboy' Comic Book

Abel was signing autographs at Comic-Con.

We've known for days that something was going on Saturday at Comic-Con involving the Weeknd and Marvel. Not because we're super-sleuths, but because the singer told us about it.

Now, the secret has been revealed. On Saturday afternoon, the Weeknd revealed that a Starboy comic book is "coming soon." In addition, he said he would be signing autographs at Marvel's Comic-Con booth at 2:30 pm that afternoon.

The Weeknd has been discussing putting his Starboy character in comic form since the release of the album of that name in November, 2016—he mused on the possibility to Zane Lowe.

"Starboy is the next chapter in this chronicle, this saga," the Weeknd said. "I guess this is the fourth chapter. He's a character that we created. It's so funny, we want to create a comic out of him as well [...] He's a cool, dope character that makes appearances a lot on the album. He's definitely made his appearance in different records in the past as well. He's a more braggadocious character that we all have inside of us."

Comic-Con is happening through Sunday at NYC's Javits Center.
