T.I. is once again stirring up Verzuz talk, and this time, he’s setting his sights on 50 Cent again

While appearing on Nightcap with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson, the Atlanta rap legend opened up about conversations he’s had regarding a potential Verzuz showdown, and made it clear who he really wanted across from him.

“When I was talking to Swizz, I was like, ‘Yeah, I’d do it, but the one that would really be the one, it probably ain’t gonna happen — if Gucci, that’s the one,’” T.I. explained. “And he hit me back like, ‘Don’t even trip, Tip, I think we gonna get Gucci to do it.’ I said, ‘Well, you don’t need me then.’”

Despite Gucci taking on Young Jeezy, that wasn’t the end of it, as T.I. said he later made his real wish known.

“Then I called my man. I said who I wanted. I said I wanted 50,” he revealed. “He don’t want no smoke, though.I called my man out, he don’t want no smoke. He ducking smoke. It’s cool.”

T.I. challenged 50 once in 2020 and again in 2021 to no avail. With that matchup seemingly unlikely, T.I. shared that other names have come up, including Lil Wayne: “We mentioned Wayne, and Wayne wouldn’t be bad. I respect Wayne. I’m a Hot Boy fan. I feel like that would make some sense.”

The comments follow earlier conversations where T.I. said he’d be more than open to facing Wayne in a Verzuz-style battle, calling it a matchup he’d enjoy and one that fans would likely embrace.

A potential clash between the two Southern rap icons would instantly become one of the series’ most anticipated moments, given their massive catalogs and influence across generations of hip-hop.

T.I. has also made it clear in past interviews that he isn’t backing down from anyone when it comes to lyrical competition or live performances.

“I’ll go in the booth with anybody,” he previously said. “Hit for hit, live performance, can’t nobody mess with me.”

Whether it’s 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, or another heavyweight name, T.I. seems more than ready to step into a musical faceoff, and the ball appears to be in everyone else’s court.
