The hosts of The Joe Budden Podcast had a passionate debate about the upcoming Verzuz battle pitting Cash Money Records against No Limit Records at ComplexCon 2025.

At the start of the conversation, the podcast crew expressed high excitement but moved to dissect the battle, from the track selections to who would ultimately come out on top.

A major point of contention was the choice of location for the historic showdown. While the event is scheduled for Las Vegas, Ice said he would not want to attend there and that he would instead want to watch from a party in New Orleans.

The hosts agreed that the battle is intrinsically a "regional affair," and the impact of the songs will resonate differently audiences in New Orleans audiences than, for example, New York listeners.

Co-host Mona Love assessed Cash Money's potential performance, citing a recent Cash Money show where she thought only BG and Juvenile gave a "great show." She called the performances of the remaining members a "snoozefest."

For Cash Money to secure a victory, the panel stressed the need for BG and Juvenile, who arguably have the two best Cash Money albums, to be "up in the front" during the battle.

When it came to deciding a winner, the podcast crew predicted Cash Money would win "hands down." But Ice predicted the battle would be "a lot closer than people are going to give it credit to."

The podcast crew then discussed the most hotly debated track pairing centered on two seminal southern hits: No Limit's "Down for My N***as" versus Cash Money's "Back That Azz Up."

Ice said "Down for My N***as" was called "damn near an automatic point" and potentially the overall "bigger record." However, "Back That Azz Up" was identified as a "huge record" that nothing else in the catalog beats, particularly because "women are going to react more" to it.

Budden admitted he felt unable to "score this" battle accurately because the songs that resonate nationally may not be the ones that impact a listener from New York.

The crew then spoke about the inclusion of solo projects like Mystikal, whom they agreed must be utilized because of his "big songs" like "Shake Your Ass" that could be the key to matching Cash Money's biggest records.

Other No Limit records mentioned include Master P's "Make Em Say Uhh!" and "Lay Low," plus records by Mia X and Silkk the Shocker. Despite the strength of No Limit's catalog, the overall prediction leaned toward a Cash Money victory.
