Snoop Dogg is bringing his signature style and holiday spirit to the NFL on Christmas Day.

The rap icon and pop culture mainstay has been announced as the halftime performer for the Detroit Lions–Minnesota Vikings matchup on Dec. 25, part of Netflix’s inaugural NFL Christmas Gameday streaming event.

The performance, officially titled “Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party,” will take place in Minneapolis during the nationally streamed game.

According to Netflix, the show will blend Snoop Dogg’s biggest hits with surprise guest appearances and festive flair, aiming to deliver a celebratory moment for football fans tuning in on Christmas afternoon.

“NFL, Netflix and your uncle Snoop on Christmas Day?” Snoop said in a statement. “We’re servin’ up music, love and good vibes for the whole world to enjoy. That’s the kind of holiday magic Santa can’t fit in a bag.”

Netflix also released a teaser video for the halftime show earlier this week, narrated by funk legend George Clinton. The clip had Clinton dropping the line “bow wow wow, yippie yo yippie yay,” a lyric from his 1982 solo hit “Atomic Dog” that Snoop has famously incorporated into his own music.

Once known primarily for his West Coast gangsta rap roots, Snoop Dogg has evolved into one of the most recognizable and beloved figures in mainstream entertainment. In recent days alone, he’s appeared as a judge on The Voice and lent his voice to the intro for Monday Night Football, further cementing his crossover appeal.

His holiday résumé is just as deep. Over the years, Snoop has released multiple Christmas-themed projects, including “Santa Claus Goes Straight to the Ghetto,” the Christmas in Tha Dogghouse compilation, and the single “Doggy Dogg Christmas.”

Netflix’s Christmas Day NFL slate will feature two games. The Dallas Cowboys face the Washington Commanders earlier in the day, with Kelly Clarkson performing before kickoff, followed by the Lions-Vikings game at 1:30 p.m. PST, complete with Snoop Dogg’s halftime show.
