Quavo and The Rocket Foundation joined forces with Titania Davenport and Edna Mattox, Takeoff's mother and grandmother, for a special brunch honoring mothers affected by gun violence.

The Blossoms of Strength event took place on Sunday at the Waldorf Astoria in Atlanta in honor of International Bereaved Mothers' Day. The intimate gathering supported mothers who lost children to gun violence by creating a space that offered healing and unity. Quavo, Davenport, and Mattox were in attendance, in addition to the newly appointed president of The Rocket Foundation, Gregory Jackson Jr., and Keisha Lance Bottoms.

Mothers in attendance were treated to a cocktail hour by Quavo's premium spirits label, White X Cognac, and a personalized bouquet of flowers from Rihanna's Fenty Beauty. Event organizers also had a panel discussion focused on the importance of community action in changing the policies and social implications of gun violence, with words from prominent voices such as Oresa Napper-Williams, Founder of Not Another Child, Kimberly Rubio, President of Lives Robbed, and Gin Stanley, Director, Sweethearts Inc.

"We turn pain into purpose so that no other mother has to walk this road alone," said Davenport, who lost her son Takeoff to gun violence in 2022. "Together we grow, and we go."

This event is the fourth for The Rocket Foundation, which recently partnered with the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention for a discussion at the Fortune Impact Initiative 2024. The organization also hosted the inaugural Rocket Foundation Summit on Takeoff's 30th birthday at The Carter Center to address gun safety and prevention efforts across the country.
