Following the highly anticipated No Limit Cash Money Verzuz event at ComplexCon, Master P has asserted the result was a triumph for unity and the culture of New Orleans.
During his appearance on the Holdin Court podcast, Master P reflected on the showdown and admitted he wished Turk and Lil Wayne had been there to make the battle an even bigger moment. But despite their absence, P characterized the clash as a "monumentous event," emphasizing that the participants, viewers, and fans were all winners that night.
"It definitely was a heavyweight bout," said Master P. "And the best competition happened in Vegas. I know everybody wanted it to happen in New Orleans, I wish it would happen in New Orleans, but with Vegas, that's where they wanted to see it at. So it'll be across the world. Everybody could see it. And I think that it did what it needed to do."
The No Limit head also reflected on the headspace he was in, stating that the Verzuz should've happened "a long time ago," but the timing was perfect, as both groups were able to get on stage and show unity and the love they have for the city of New Orleans.
"We all won," said P. "That's what I'ma go with. You know why I say that? 'Cause the world never expected to see that. While we all alive, we all won."
He went on to pay tribute to the dead and incarcerated members of his crew: Soulja Slim and Mr. Magic in the former category, and C-Murder and Mystikal in the latter.
