Coi Leray has responded to a troll that wasn't feeling her 2021 XXL Freshmen Freestyle and called it one of the "worst" ever.

The New Jersey native took time out last Wednesday to address a Twitter user who reposted a snippet of her XXL Freshmen Freestyle and asked others if they could have the discussion that Coi dropped a dud. According to Leray, she's the only one from that list who's charting hits at the moment, yet people still find something to discuss regarding her career.

"And the only one who top 10 global in the world right now with 3 songs on the hot 100," Leray wrote in response to the person. "This didn't determine my journey, I always knew I was destined for greatness . Now look at me. Swimming in hits baby. Y'all to busy worried about what someone has to say. Clearly IDGAF."

Coi Leray had also spoken about the infamous freestyle during her conversation with Ebro Darden on Apple Music that celebrated the release of her new album, Coi. In that conversation, the 26-year-old explained that she's "not a freestyler" as she's never really spit from the top of the dome.

Coi explained she started writing her lyrics down early on in her career and progressed. She would do a melody pass where she doesn't have to think of words if she finds herself doing a freestyle. She attributes it to dropping out of school and not having the best vocabulary.

"I dropped out early," she said. "I was very smart, but I could say that my vocabulary was not the best. And just metaphors and similes, that's why rap is very powerful because it is like a gift, a talent."

She added, "And my process was just taking my time and actually really having to write it down, look at what I'm doing and being able to be like, 'All right, this don't make sense. Might have to stop and define the word. Might have to look up RhymeZone real quick and see, yo, learn a new word while you're doing that.'"

According to the "Players" rapper, she handled her freestyle by going out there and doing whatever came to her mind because she knew her peers weren't coming with authentic freestyle energy.

"I'm like, 'Yo, I'm going to just fucking go out there and do whatever.' 'Cause I know these people not freestyling like... I don't know, maybe they are, maybe they aren't. I don't, maybe they're writing it before. But I'm like, 'I'm going to just go in there and just have fun.'"

Coi Leray just released her second studio album Coi on Friday. The album comes with 16 tracks and boasts features from David Guetta, Saucy Santana, Giggs, Lola Brooke Skillibeng and James Brown. Check it out below.
