Cardi B scored another courtroom victory in her ongoing legal battle with blogger Tasha K after a federal bankruptcy judge ruled in the rapper’s favor during a contempt hearing tied to violations of their settlement agreement.
The hearing, which took place on May 6, ended with the judge ordering Tasha K to remove content connected to Cardi B and imposing financial sanctions against both Tasha and her attorney.
Following the hearing, Tasha K addressed the outcome during a livestream, where she admitted the ruling did not go in her favor.
“I got fined,” she said. “We did. We both got fined.”
According to Tasha, her attorney Chad Van Horn was penalized and ordered to personally cover a portion of Cardi B’s legal fees after issues were discovered in recent court filings. The controversy centered around several legal citations included in Tasha K’s opposition brief that Cardi B’s legal team argued were “fabricated” or “hallucinated.” A corrective filing submitted before the hearing acknowledged multiple citation problems.
Tasha described the courtroom loss as unexpected and said the hearing lasted roughly three hours.
The judge additionally ordered content removed that violated the non-disparagement agreement attached to Tasha K’s bankruptcy repayment plan. That agreement barred her from publicly discussing Cardi B or her family members as part of the settlement tied to the rapper’s defamation judgment. Tasha’s posts about Offset and NFL player Stefon Diggs, the judge decided, violated that agreement.
Cardi B originally won a nearly $4 million defamation case against Tasha K in 2022. After Tasha later filed for bankruptcy, both sides negotiated a structured repayment arrangement that reportedly reduced the amount owed while requiring compliance with several restrictions, including the non-disparagement clause.
Cardi B’s legal team accused Tasha K of violating that agreement multiple times through online commentary and videos discussing the rapper and her family.
Tasha attempted to downplay the setback during her livestream, while insisting she plans to keep moving forward.
“I’m used to losing, but I always overcome,” she said. “We lost the war, but I have my dignity.”
Cardi B appeared to react shortly after the hearing with an Instagram Story post reading, “it’s all fun and games til the brim.”
Details about the fines for both Tasha and her attorney should be visible early next week, as information about the hearing makes its way onto the case’s docket.
