BlocBoy JB was arrested after police found him asleep at the wheel of his SUV at a stoplight in Memphis.
According to the Memphis Police Department, BlocBoy was spotted by a state trooper in a red Mazda SUV that had been at a stoplight and stayed there for two full cycles of the traffic signal. The trooper then allegedly walked up to the vehicle and found the driver unconscious with their foot on the brake while the car was in drive. BlocBoy's SUV was reportedly blocking northbound traffic in the middle lane.
The trooper also observed a black firearm in the person's lap alongside a bag of "green leafy substance consistent with marijuana next to the handgun." The handgun was identified as a Glock 9mm that had 18 rounds of ammunition, and there were reportedly 12.4 grams of marijuana in the car.
The driver was arrested and later identified as the rapper. Court documents obtained by Fox 13 Memphis state BlocBoy was charged with obstruction of a highway, driving with a revoked license, felon in possession of a firearm, and simple marijuana possession. He was booked at the Shelby County jail on a $7,500 bond.
News 3 Memphis has stated that BlocBoy made bond and was released from jail. BlocBoy was already handed a DUI conviction in 2018, which led to his license being revoked, as well as a marijuana conviction in 2020.
