Taylor Bennett Shares Unreleased Track “Gimmie A Call” Featuring Chance the Rapper

If family are the people you know best, it stands to reason they'd be great people to collaborate on music with. And when your sibling is a rising superstar like Chance the Rapper, you should treasure every second you get to spend in the studio with him.

Chicago's Taylor Bennett has taken advantage (in a good way!) of having a talent like Chance in the family, previously getting his help for Bennett's album, Broad Shoulders, as well as on other singles over the last couple years. It seems like he always has a new track with Chance just sitting around in the vaults somewhere, ready to drop at a moment's notice.

We got the latest one of those today, when Bennett included a new song, "Gimmie A Call," in a project of previously unreleased songs called Throw Aways: Unmixed. Bennett goes through most of the project on his own—with some help behind the production boards, of course—but Chance makes a prominent appearance on "Gimmie A Call," going acapella for the first 25 seconds of the song before backup vocals and instrumentation begin to kick in.

It's still sort of disarming to listen to someone who sounds sort of like Chance on a song with Chance, but it works great. The chemistry and closeness of the brothers shines through, as it has in their previous work together, and that's not something you can fake.

"Love this man right here, through any and all," said Chance while wishing his brother a happy birthday in January. "He has grown into a great man. He's got God and me behind him, he cannot fail he cannot fall."
