Chance the Rapper's Brother Taylor Bennett Comes Out as Bisexual

Taylor Bennett, the artist behind 'Broad Shoulders' and Chance's brother, has come out as bisexual.

Taylor Bennett came out as bisexual Wednesday, telling fans he wanted to celebrate his birthday by being "more open" about himself in an effort to help others who may be going through a similar struggle. "I do recognize myself as a bisexual male and do and have always openly supported the gay community and will keep doing so in 2017," Bennett, who is Chance the Rapper's brother, wrote on Twitter.

Fans quickly expressed their support for Bennett, whose coming out arrives just as LGBTQ activists across the nation are preparing for the potential hardships of an impending Trump/Pence presidency:

Bennett, who's set to release his Broad Shoulders short film later this moth, has carved out an impressive name for himself in recent years. "The short film encompasses a lot of the raw emotion that Taylor had experienced while he wrote the project and is a visual representation that takes the audience through the album track by track and is similar to Donald Glover's 'Clapping for the Wrong Reasons' or Kanye West's 'Runaway,'" producer Danny Farber toldFake Shore Drive last May.

Bennett recently released a 45-second teaser of the Broad Shoulders short film on Twitter:

The sample-free album of the same name, which featured appearances from Joey Purp and Chance the Rapper, was described by producer Ludlow as a "big puzzle" in a 2015 Rolling Stoneprofile. "We just came into the studio every day, and the picture started to get clearer with every song," Bennett added at the time. A new Taylor Bennett EP is expected next month.
