When it comes to her relationship with Benny Blanco, Selena Gomez is in it for the long haul.
The multi-hyphenate made this quite clear in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where she was asked about her recent date night at West Hollywood’s Sushi Park. Selena said she’s been able to maintain a “private life” — at least by Hollywood standards — but will occasionally brave the paparazzi for a good meal with her boyfriend.
“I really love that restaurant!” she said with a laugh when asked about the sushi outing. “But if you see, I’m like [pantomimes wrapping her face in a scarf]. I just try to not give them good ones sometimes; but other times, it’s part of the job and you just have to deal with it.”
Although Selena has made an effort to keep certain aspects of her life private — at least as private as possible—she’s been much more open about her romance with Benny. Since going Instagram official in late 2023, the couple regularly shares photos and videos of their life together on the social media platform—and it’s all because Selena feels so comfortable with Benny.
“I guess this is the safest I’ve ever felt in [a relationship], and I see a future with this person,” she said. “And when you put a little bit out there, people are not as hungry to hunt you down. Like, if they hear something, they’re going to, but if you’re like, ‘I did it,’ they’re like, ‘Oh, well there’s you, just going to Sushi Park.’ But there’s so much of my relationship people don’t see, that’s just mine.”
Earlier this month, Selena Gomez praised Benny after he was featured in People's 'Sexiest Man Alive' issue. On Monday (Nov. 11), she shared a picture from her boyfriend's People shoot and included a message thanking him for grabbing one of her Taco Bell favorites.
"Not only do you love me unconditionally... You always get me my Taco Bell Mexican pizza," she wrote.
