Domain Diego is back.
Fresh off his prison release, Max B has blessed fans with Public Domain 7: The Purge. The effort marks the seventh installment of his Public Domain mixtape series and his first full-length project since 2021’s Negro Spirituals.
The project features artists including ASAP Rocky, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Kehlani, French Montana, and more — including a posthumous contribution from Chinx.
Max B teased the effort in a recent interview with Billboard, just weeks after he completed a 16-year prison sentence. Biggaveli confirmed he immediately hit the studio following his release and reassured fans that a new Public Domain tape was coming.
“It never went nowhere; that’s why we’re on seven,” he said with a laugh. “It may have taken a little minute, but we on seven.”
In 2009, the 47-year-old rapper was sentenced to 75 years in prison for his involvement in a deadly 2006 robbery at a New Jersey hotel. Max B was accused of being an accomplice in the incident, and was found guilty of multiple charges, including felony murder, kidnapping, and armed robbery.
Fast-forward to 2016, when the rapper accepted a plea deal that reduced his sentence to 20 years. After pleading guilty to aggravated manslaughter, he was effectively eligible for a 2025 release.
“This the new grown and gorgeous Biggavel, this is the new and improved,” he told Billboard. “This the new, distinguished Biggavel. This ain’t the old Biggavel from before, so you gotta love it. This is what I think is attracting the people like, ‘Damn, we thought this n***a was gonna come out and do the same s**t. He’s a prime example of what you’re supposed to do when you come out. His reentry at its purest form. This man right here: Max Biggavel.'”
