Max B has been released from prison after more than 15 years.
Footage of the rapper shared online showed him greeting his family, friends, and, of course, French Montana. The two rappers embraced in a wholesome moment that is a reminder of their decades-long friendship.
Montana posted about Max B's release, which happened to occur on the "Pop That" artist's birthday on Sunday (Nov. 9).
"CANT MAKE THIS UP ! MY BROTHER REALLY CAME HOME ON MY B DAY !" Montana wrote. "HAMDULILLAH WALKED IT DOWN ! NO MORE FREE YOU."
Max B had originally received a 75-year prison sentence that was changed to 20 years after he pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter.
Last December, Max B confirmed that he would be home in 2025 during an episode of The Joe Budden Podcast. During a surprise call-in appearance, the rapper told the podcast's hosts that he was in great spirits due to his Nov. 9, 2025 release date.
“I’m feeling righteous, man,” Max said at the time. “I’m doing all right. This is almost over. … Wavy Baby coming home real soon.”
The rapper also let the podcast's hosts know that he wouldn't be taking any "turtle steps" once he was out.
“We on divine time,” he said. “I’m working. I can’t wait to get re-acclimated. You already know I’m a musical genius myself, so n***as gotta get re-acclimated with my shit. It’s a challenge. I love a good challenge. … I’m the trendsetter.”
Last month, Max B announced from behind bars that he'll be embarking on a seven-date tour to celebrate his release. He's set to perform in clubs on the East Coast in locations that include New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
Montana isn't the only artist who'll be happy to see that Max is back. Jim Jones, who Max feuded with for decades, should be eager to see him now that the rappers squashed their beef during an appearance on Drink Champs.
"Listen, Jim said a bunch of hard shit about me. So, we all say hard shit about each other, OK?" Max B said. "Jim done wished me dead, all type of shit. It's all good. Listen, man. It's love, man. I want to start over. I'm a new man. I'm a married man. I got four kids."
He added: "Like, I'm on a whole different time right now, my n***a I'm out here to get my money and ride out the sunset with this shit. It's in there for me, though. I'm going tell you that. So that's the goal."
