Posta Boy Reportedly Dead at 43

The rapper was the first '106 & Park Freestyle Friday' Hall of Fame inductee.

Posta Boy has reportedly passed away at the age of 43.

Posta Boy was popularly known for such songs as "Jurassic Harlem," which sampled John Williams' famous Jurassic Park score, as well as being the first winner of BET's 106 & Park Freestyle Friday. His Freestyle Friday dominance as a champion lasted seven straight weeks, and ultimately led to his induction in the show's Hall of Fame.

Several artists took to social media to mourn the loss of the 43-year-old former battle rapper. Mickey Factz used his Instagram account to pay tribute to the artist.

"😞 Condolences to @mr10uknwtherest family," he wrote.

Skyzoo also shouted out Posta Boy with a message in honor of his life.

In an interview with All Hip Hop, Posta Boy reflected on his cancer diagnosis after he noticed swelling in the area of his testicles. After undergoing emergency surgery to remove one of his testicles, he went through five months of chemotherapy to shrink the cancerous mass that spread to his kidneys.

When Posta Boy was able to have surgery, the procedure took nearly 12 hours because doctors realized that the mass wrapped around his liver and other vital organs. The rapper revealed he nearly died halfway through the surgery.

The cause of his death is unknown.
