GloRilla Says She Was ‘Just Playing’ About Her R&B Album Announcement

Glo admitted to trolling with her announcement.

GloRilla admitted she was trolling when she announced a forthcoming R&B album last month.

In an interview with Jordan Rose for Complex News, Glo crushed her fans’ hopes when she admitted to “lying” about plans to release an R&B album, explaining that the Memphis native was trolling those “trying to talk shit” when she teased some of the R&B artists featured on her sophomore album.

GloRilla spoke about her highly-anticipated follow-up to 2024's Glorious on Spaces earlier this year, telling her fans to expect "something different" as part of a new era in her career.

"I will be stepping out of that era," she said. "[I’m] stepping into a new era. I can't tell y'all when it’s gonna be. But I'm excited for it and I hope y’all like it […] I'm in the studio. I’m always working."

That statement, coupled with her previous R&B collaborations, which include the likes of Kehlani on "Xmas Time" and T-Pain with "I Luv Her," could have confirmed suspicions that an R&B-themed project was certainly on the horizon.

While an R&B album is off the radar now, it should not be out of the question after listening to her impromptu performance of "Amazing Grace" and "Star Spangled Banner" on Sundae Conversations in 2024.
