If you ask Lil Wayne, chances of a reconciliation between him and his former mentor and colleague Birdman are dead and gone. In his latest attempt to separate himself from Cash Money during a promo interview for his new memoir Gone 'Til November, Weezy revealed Birdman is not only on his shit list, but they're not even family anymore.

When asked if he would ever be able to patch up his familial relationship with the Cash Money mogul—who has allegedly been keeping his Tha Carter V album "hostage" during a ferocious legal battle—Tunechi spoke candidly. "I’m 34 baby, I’m too old for friends," he told HipHollywood.

So what about the familial bond they had all these years? "His last name isn’t Carter, baby. He’s not family," he said.

Lil Wayne's claims probably sound dramatically different from his previous sentiments that usually referenced Birdman as his "daddy." But as people say, money and family don't often mix. And Lil Wayne has previously said in a 2011 interview with GQthat he didn't like his biological father ("He don’t give a shit about me. And I don’t give a shit about him"), so the news of him turning away from Birdman (his father figure) isn't too far-fetched.

Although it looked like Weezy and Birdman could let bygones be bygones when they were previously spotted partying together on multiple occasions, Wayne has since dissed his former family member and fired shots at him in a number of interviews and singles, including the most recent track "Grateful," in which he says "No more CMB."

Lil Wayne and Birdman are reportedly still hashing things out in court. Although the rapper claimed in his original lawsuit that Birdman was delaying the release of CV, the YMCMB CEO recently came forward insisting Wayne has the tape in his possession. The two may not be family anymore, but hopefully they can come to some sort of agreement in their battle over CV's prolonged release.
