Zayn Malik was targeted by an angry woman who threw water at him during a Q&A event in London this week.
The former One Direction member was nearly pelted in the head during the event at Banquet Records in Kingston, England, on Thursday (May 21). A video shows the woman in the stands shouting towards the backstage and flinging a water bottle twice.
According to TMZ, the incident stemmed from the event being shifted from three separate Q&As to promote Zayn’s new album Konnakol to being merged into two sessions. This reportedly left some fans waiting for hours, possibly resulting in the water-pelting woman being upset.
Zayn’s U.S. fans, however, have reason to be disappointed after the vocalist cancelled stateside dates of his upcoming tour, which he announced in an Instagram Story earlier this month. In April, Malik was hospitalized for an unspecified illness.
In looking at his schedule for the tour, scheduled to begin on May 23 in London, the singer had to "reduce the number of shows" to hit the road.
"I want to make sure I still get out and see as many of you as I possibly can," he wrote. "I’m really looking forward to playing these shows for you, and I hope to see the rest of you around the world very soon. Big Love, Z."
To date, The Konnakol Tour will only be held in England and South America for nine dates between May and October.
