The Weeknd might as well be the face of Spotify at this point, having broken a another record on the music streaming platform.
In a press release shared with Complex, it's been reported that the pop star has reached a first-time Spotify milestone by amassing 30 songs which have crossed the one billion streams mark.
Among The Weekend's highest-streamed songs on the platform are some of his most notable hits, such as "Blinding Lights," his Daft Punk collaboration "Starboy" and "I Can't Feel My Face," along with Hurry Up Tomorrow track "Timeless," which features Playboi Carti.
If this historic feat wasn't enough, The Weeknd is already a 7x Diamond-certified artist with 120.5 million monthly Spotify listeners, ranking among the top five of the top global artists on the platform.
In 2024, The Weeknd became the first artist with 21 songs to surpass the one billion streaming count on Spotify after previously tying with Drake at 17 songs.
That same year, the "Cry for Me" artist partnered with Spotify for a Billions Club concert, where he performed 25 songs with over a billion streams on the platform for invited fans and special guests like Teezo Touchdown and Ava Max. The event was later released as a 45-minute concert film.
The Weeknd will soon close the chapter on his stage name with his After Hours til Dawn Tour, which resumes with an international leg with April 2026. In November, it was announced that the tour sold over 7.5 million tickets since beginning in 2022, grossing $1 billion across 153 shows.
In other big streaming news, Drake earned some big Spotify numbers on Christmas Day, as he was the highest-streamed artist on the platform with 40 million streams.
