Trick Daddy has credited the late Ozzy Osbourne with giving him one of his biggest hits.
On Tuesday (July 22), Osbourne's surviving family announced that the heavy metal legend had died, and shortly after, Trick spoke to TMZ about Osbourne providing the sample on his 2002 song, "Let's Go." The track, which features Lil Jon and Twista, samples Osbourne's 1980 classic "Crazy Train."
"The iconic legend will be truly missed, especially by me -- a young, Black man out of the ghetto of Miami -- by giving the clearance to sample his 'Crazy Train' masterpiece!" Trick told the outlet.
In 2021, Lil Jon posted Osbourne's reaction to "Let's Go" after he heard it for the first time nearly twenty years after its release. The Prince of Darkness seemed to be amazed by the track and has championed other hip-hop artists that have sampled his music.
Last year, he heard T-Pain's "War Pigs" cover and called it the "best" rendition of the Black Sabbath track.
Osbourne performed "Crazy Train" for the last time during his final performance with Black Sabbath earlier this month in England.
