Trick Daddy has doubled down after facing criticism because he stated that he doesn't consider himself an African-American.

Earlier this week, the "Let's Go" rapper shared a video of himself discussing Black people in the country identifying as African-American. Trick, 50, says he considers himself only American because he's never been to Africa, nor does he know anything about the continent.

"I'm trying to figure out how 'Afro' get in front of my mother-fucking race," Trick Daddy says in the clip. "I never been to Africa. Afro or Africa, never been there. I'm not from Africa."

He went on to say he was born in Goulds, Florida, and shouted out "Pork 'n' Beans" projects in Liberty City. He added he's heard Africa is a "beautiful place" and knows it's the "motherland," but he said his maternal lineage is not from the continent.

"[I] ain't never went to Africa, ain't thinking about going there," he continued. "And I heard it's a beautiful place, yes. And I know it's the motherland, yes. But not my mother, not her mother, and not her mother's mother, that ain't their land. Americans' real true land is right here, on U.S. soils."

The rapper's comments went viral as fans discussed racial identity in America. It didn't take long for Trick to catch wind of the chatter and double down on his initial comments.

"My grandmother ain't never tell me not one mother-fucking story about Africa. I don't know nothing about Africa—all I know is the only African people I run into, they think they better than us over here," Trick said. "So what you [inaudible] worried about me saying that I'm not African? I'm just American! What is wrong with you n****s?"

He also seemed to respond to the comments made by the crew on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show in response to his statements earlier this week.

"And fuck your mother-fucking podcast, fuck your show n***a," Trick said. "Don't bring my mother-fucking name up. I don't know you bitches ... I'm still not saying you n****s' names."

Trick previously faced controversy over his comments on race in 2016. In a social media post, Trick claimed Black women were "useless" and needed to "tighten up" compared to white and Latina women.

"These Spanish, these white hoes, they just started getting finer than a motherfucker," he said in a video at the time. "Y'all Black hoes better tighten up ... These Spanish and these white hoes getting very spiffy on y'all. They fuck around and learn how to fry chicken. You hoes is useless."
