Hours after the suicide of alternative rapper POORSTACY, the mother of his child, Nicole Grikstas, was arrested on charges of child neglect.

According to TMZ, the Boca Raton police suspect that the couple used drugs in the presence of their young child. The toddler was with Grikstas and Poorstacy, real name Carlito Milfort, in a motel room at the time the artist fatally shot himself. Grikstas was arrested on Saturday (Nov. 29) for child neglect without causing great bodily harm.

The affidavit reportedly states that the couple checked into a motel with their child one week before the rapper’s death. While in their room, the two partook in heavy drug usage, having taken cocaine, Xanax and MDMA while in their child's presence.

Around 11 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 28), Grikstas and Milfort returned to their motel room, where they continued their drug binge by doing cocaine. At 3 a.m., Grikstas had taken MDMA, but throughout the evening, she and the "Love Spells" artist got into an argument, accusing each other of cheating. At one point, Milfort allegedly claimed that Grikstas was hiding his drugs, which she denied, although he began to search her vaginal and anal areas, allegedly assaulting her throughout the process.

For the following hour, Grikstas claimed that he threatened to shoot her, aiming his gun at himself and her before pulling the trigger. After the interview, police determined that Grikstas and the late artist kept their child unprotected from their drug use and at no point tried to remove him from the room.

The artist, who was 26 years old at his time of death, was previously charged with battery and neglect of a child in 2023. Milfort was charged with assaulting a mother and a one-month-old kid, in addition to throwing a hamster-contained cage at the woman. He was released after posting a $6,000 bond, and the case was later dropped.
