Lil Durk could be receiving additional charges in his murder-for-hire trial, which has been scheduled to begin in August.
According to AllHipHop, co-defendant Deandre Wilson, also known as "OTF DeDe," requested in a court filing on Thursday (May 21) to be released on bond ahead of the trial's start date.
The filing stated that defense attorneys were notified by prosecutors that supplemental charges would be reviewed by June 3. Among the alleged incidents up for review are a January 2019 shooting in downtown Atlanta and the January 2022 murder of Stephon Mack in Chicago.
In the 2019 incident, Durk (real name Durk Devontay Banks) faced felony charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault, but all were dropped in 2022. For the 2022 shooting, unsealed documents pointed to the Chicago rapper allegedly being responsible, although he was not charged.
The incidents could be used as direct evidence against Durk, who has been in custody since being arrested in late 2024. The case is centered around the alleged murder-for-hire of late rapper Lul Pab (real name Saviay'a Robinson), the cousin of Quando Rondo, who it's claimed was killed in retaliation for the 2020 murder of King Von.
In March, Durk shared an audio update to his Instagram followers about his mental state and improving his "patience."
"It’s just been sitting on my heart lately to save the generation, bro," he said. "Save these kids. I’m just tired of being a pawn for the culture. Entertaining and being ignorant."
