Did Hayley Williams drop a hint that she’ll be featured on Beyoncé’s upcoming ninth studio album?
The R&B and pop icon is set to release Act III any day now, and Williams mentioned the project during her concert in Maryland on Wednesday (April 15).
The Paramore frontwoman was performing at The Fillmore when a fan asked her whether she was on Beyoncé’s next album. The last two Beyoncé albums were dance and country-influenced, and the BeyHive has theorized over the last year that her next LP will take on a rock music direction.
“If I’m on Act III? What do you want me to do if I am?” Williams told the audience. “Girl, I don’t know if I am or not.”
Williams went on to say she had “no answer” and added, “I wish I could tell you.”
“If I could tell anyone, it would be you right now,” she continued. “I just don’t have that answer. You might know before I do.”
If there’s any other hint that Williams could be a contender as a featured artist on Act III, the rock vocalist revealed on the One Life One Chance podcast in February that she met Beyoncé at the Grammys in 2008.
“She was super sweet, she said she loved 'Misery Business,' and that was just too much,” Williams said on the episode. “I don't even remember if I said anything back because I just stood there like, 'You're Beyoncé!'"
