DDG Working on Getting Fire Insurance for Mansion, Warned to Evacuate

The content creator joked that he'll livestream for "nine years straight" if his mansion burns down.

DDG has taken precautions amid the blazing Los Angeles wildfires.

In a recent Twitch stream, posted on Twitch on Thursday (Jan. 9), the content creator and rapper announced that he was warned to evacuate his mansion and was attempting to get fire insurance.

"I found out today that I ain't got fire insurance," he says at the start of his stream at the 5:30 mark. "So I'm figuring all that out cause [if] my crib burned down, that's just Ms wasted. I gotta figure all this stuff out where I got insurance on my crib and stuff cause if I don't got fire insurance, it's a wrap. I just gotta take the L on the chin and I'm not trying to do that."

On his YouTube page where he clipped part of his stream, he continued. "If it just so happens to come this way and I got insurance, so be it," he said around the 1:45-minute mark of the video above. "But if it comes this way and I don't, y'all gon' get a subathon for nine years straight."

The influencer also joked that he'd give his toddler son, Halo, whom he shares with Halle Bailey, his "own phone" to record and post content.

While promising his audience that he'll be okay, DDG shared his frustration about the wildfire nearing his house, which the 26-year-old said he could see from his window.

"If I got insurance, good old jolly day. I'm a happy man. I have no problem, burn away. Do your thing. Do whatever you got to do, Mr. Fire. If I got insurance, but if I don't got insurance, though it's like, 'all right, I'm pissed.'"

DDG also shared that he intended to sell his mansion, but that as long as he doesn't die, he'll be able to recover.

Celebrities who have lost their homes during the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires, which have persisted for five days in areas including the Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Ventura, include Jhené Aiko, Tina Knowles and Milo Ventimiglia. A reported eleven individuals have died since the wildfires broke out, while at least 38,000 acres have burned.
