A shooting involving two people occurred outside of Chris Brown's Tarzana, California, home this weekend.
On Friday afternoon (May 1), just four days before the singer's 37th birthday, police were called to the street outside of Brown's home after a male suspect allegedly fired at a vehicle driven by a woman.
The suspect, who Complex has confirmed was not the two-time Grammy winner, was a 35-year-old Black male. The man was taken into custody at the scene and arrested for assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, as well as vandalism.
"Yesterday around 4:11[P.M.], LAPD officers from the West Valley division responded to the 19600 block of Citrus Ridge Drive to reports of a shooting that had just occurred," an LAPD Media Relations officer told Complex. The suspect was reported to have brandished a "CO2-style weapon" during the incident. It as also confirmed that the shooting occurred on the street outside of Brown’s home, not on the singer’s property.
According to TMZ, when police arrived on the scene, both parties refused to leave the area and were said to have gotten into an argument. The suspect claims that the altercation escalated when the woman drove her vehicle over his foot, to which he shot at her car. The suspect is currently being held on a $50,000 bail.
This week, Chris Brown unveiled the cover art of his upcoming 12th album, Brown, which will be released next Friday (May 8). In June, he and Usher will embark on their much anticipated 33-date R&B Tour.
