Bun B has explained how he went into protector mode after his wife, Angela "Queenie" Walls, came face-to-face with an armed robber in 2019.

On the Wednesday (November 26), a year after perpetrator Demonte Jackson was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the crime, the UGK legend appeared on the Angie Martinez IRL podcast, where he recalled being present when the home invasion occurred.

"I would always answer the door and where we lived at that time because the front door was kind of open to the public," Bun began (around the 21-minute mark in the video below), explaining that he didn't ever want his wife to answer the door for safety reasons.

But in 2019, Jackson forcibly entered their Houston residence after the rapper was preparing to go to the grocery store. According to the Trill OG, he had to use the restroom before heading out. It was upon exiting the bathroom that he heard fear in his wife's voice.

"While I was in the bathroom it happened," Bun said. "And I can hear the tone of my wife's voice and I'm realizing something is very wrong because my wife is scared. And my wife does not live a life of fear. I protect my wife, [she] knows she's going to be protected."

He added: "I could hear her saying, 'Just take the car, just take the car.' And I'm like, 'My car's paid for.' And then I'm like, 'Somebody's in my house.'"

Bun then said he had spent "years waiting for someone" to attempt to rob his home. "I knew it because of my life, where the way I move and, you know, where I am at in the community, I felt like somebody at some point might try it. And it wasn't until that day where it actually happened," he explained.

"And so I ran out the bathroom. I went got my gun. But what I didn't know during that moment that whole time was my wife was trying to stall him out so I could get to the gun to come down and protect her."

When Bun B emerged, he saw that Jackson was pointing a gun at his wife's forehead. "And her rationale in that moment was, 'If I die, I know one, you're going to kill him, and then two, you're going to make sure this family is okay.' And so, she had to come to terms with dying in that moment and what this family would be after that," he shared.

The "Int'l Players Anthem" rapper said that while this was the first time his home had been breached, there had been previous incidents where he had to "stand in."

Before Jackson was sentenced, Bun took the stand to testify and recalled the moments before he caught up to the robber to discover his identity.

"I wanted to confront the person who put that fear in my wife's voice," he said. "She was very panicked. She was borderline hysterical. She just did not want me to go out that door and face the person with the gun."
