Britney Spears has shared that she thought the speculation around her being drunk on a flight this week was "incredibly funny."

On Thursday (May 22), it was alleged that the pop star behaved drunkenly while on a private jet flying from to Los Angeles International Airport from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Spears was reported to have been with her security team when she attempted to smoke a cigarette on the flight, and sources claimed that she was acting "difficult" when flight attendants asked her to put out the cigarette.

Although the singer will not face charges in the incident, Spears was met by authorities upon landing, who informed her not to smoke on a flight again.

Spears reacted to the news in an Instagram reel on Friday (May 24), which showed her playfully posing in a fedora and holding a bottle of alcohol.

"Some planes I’ve been on you can’t smoke mostly but this one was different because the drink holders were on outside of seat !!!" she recalled.

Spears added that while on the flight, she experienced her first time drinking vodka, which she said made her feel "so smart."

"I was like wow what the heck is in there !!! I felt so clear and smart !!! And said I want a cigarette so bad !!! My friend put it in my mouth and lit [fire emoji] it up for me so I was like OH SO THIS IS A PLANE WHERE YOU CAN SMOKE !!!" she continued.

Spears apologized to those she "offended," but added that flight attendants generally ensure that she's seated at the back of the aircraft. She also alleged that one attendant tried to "embarrass" her by contacting authorities.

"Nobody was on the plane for first 20 minutes and she wouldn’t let me get out of my seat I wanted to stand up !!!" she wrote. "She acted so weird about making sure I sat down and it was weird !!! I didn’t like the way she put the seatbelt on me and invaded my space !!!"

Spears, who previously called out those who are "jealous" of her, has been trying to repair her image since ending her 13-year conservatorship by defending herself against other "fake" reports about her behavior.
