To 50 Cent, there's no question that Kendrick Lamar belongs as the next Super Bowl headliner.
The rapper and media mogul was a guest on The Talk this week, where a segment titled '50 Cent's 2 Cents' was introduced. Co-hosts Amanda Kloots, Sheryl Underwood, and Akbar Gbajabiamila, with the latter asking about Fifty's opinion on Kendrick's upcoming Super Bowl LIX show.
"I mean, it was a choice. As a solo artist right now, he's the guy," Fif said around the two-minute mark of the clip below.
With the NFL football game being held in New Orleans, Fif began to say that he could "see why" NOLA native Lil Wayne was a contender but shared that Kendrick should "bring out" some of his past collaborators. With this idea in mind, the performance could be similar to the Dr. Dre-led Super Bowl LVI performance with Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar, which 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak were also a part of.
On the beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, 50 Cent said that it was "good for the culture."
"Both Drake and Kendrick produced quality music faster because they had to compete with each other. That competitive nature made them go work and have responses," he said.
"Hip-hop is still–it's not just a genre where you can just make a song and sit back. You have to make a song and be ready to make a song again right away with other artists."
Agreeing with 50 Cent was NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who recently told TMZ Sports that he's "really great" about Kendrick's upcoming show.
Also speaking on the Super Bowl LIX halftime decision this week was Lil Wayne, who vulnerably expressed his disappointment with not being chosen.
"I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown and for just automatically mentally putting myself in that position like somebody told me that was my position. So I blame myself for that," he said in the clip below.
