Congratulations are in order for Knxwledge, who is celebrating his move to Japan.
The producer, perhaps best known for being half of NxWorries alongside Anderson .Paak, shared the exciting news to X on Sunday (April 5). “I have officially become a resident of Japan,” Knxwledge wrote in Japanese. The news comes after his first Kyoto show on April 4.
In an Instagram story, Knxwledge explained the reasoning behind his move, writing, “I want to be transparent — outside of Japan and NxWorries performances, I haven’t received any booking opportunities since well before COVID. I’ve since made the decision to relocate to Japan, where I’ve found a sense of peace and stability.”
The producer’s love for Japan is no secret. Across his expansive discography, he has several releases titled with Japanese characters.
Knxwledge may have to find some time to come back to the States if he hasn’t already worked with Rihanna, whose husband ASAP Rocky revealed her to be a fan of the producer.
In an episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, the hosts suggested Rih come “out of retirement [to] do a Knxwledge and Alchemist EP," to which Rocky replied, "Wait 'til you...," before stopping himself and adding: "Come on, gang. Watch."
Although he’s been an underground favorite for years, Knxwledge found a wider fanbase with his work as part of NxWorries, even nabbing the Grammy for Best Progressive R&B album in 2025 for Why Lawd?
