Ah, Drake. He never ceases to amaze us.

The Boy is in Texas for his annual Houston Appreciation Weekend, and last night he paid his respects to famed strippers Lira Galore, Miracle Watts, and Maliah Michel with a special party honoring their hard work in the scene. Footage of Drake having some fun surfaced online via Karen Civil, which shows him putting two large stacks of money on both his ears. You can see the video above.

“Hello? What they say? Don’t put money in your ear? Oh, I didn’t hear that,” he says.

Jay Z recently caused a stir for criticizing hip-hop’s obsession with money phone stunting on Instagram, as illustrated in his line on “The Story of O.J” where he raps, “Y'all on the 'Gram holdin' money to your ear/There's a disconnect, we don't call that money over here.”

In Drake’s current situation, it’s really not a disconnect—he can hear perfectly fine. The money is definitely calling, and he’s answering.

Future, Drake’s partner in rhyme, responded to Jay’s line by posting his own money phone selfie on Snapchat with the caption “U ain’t got the juice like dat. MOOD” written across the bottom.

And then there’s the troll God himself, 50 Cent, who claimed that he invented the money phone with Floyd Mayweather. Oh, let's not forget Boosie’s passionate defense of it.

We’ll be sure to keep you posted as more money phone defenses pop up.
