Released in 2025, Escape Room marks Taylor's first new album in five years. After releasing The Album in 2020, the multi-hyphenate artist pivoted to film and television, emerging as a superstar across multiple industries. She's had high-profile roles in Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn—for which she earned her first Golden Globe award—as well as Ryan Murphy's All's Fair with Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, and Sarah Paulson.
Escape Room is a visual album that features narration from some of Hollywood's most celebrated actresses, including Taraji P. Henson, Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash, Jodie Turner-Smith, Issa Rae, Kerry Washington, and Regina King. The project also features musical collaborations with Lucky Daye, Tasha Smith, Jill Scott, Tyla, and Kaytranada. The album's deeply personal closing track, "Always," features Taylor's daughters Junie Shumpert and Rue Rose Shumpert.
The Fire Girl Edition is pressed on red vinyl across two LPs and includes exclusive alternate album art. Each copy features a hand-stamped rose and spray paint art on the insert, making every vinyl unique.
