Nicki Minaj has been making headlines for her appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest.
On Dec. 21, the Pink Friday 2 rapper joined Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika, at the event, where Minaj spoke on everything from her involvement in politics to Gavin Newsom, her recent United Nations speech, in which she made claims about the persecution of Christians in Nigeria, and showed her reverence for Donald Trump.
Now, multiple reputable sources—including People, The Independent, and The New York Post—are reporting that Nicki deactivated her Instagram account due to backlash from the event, but that doesn’t appear to be true.
In the fall, Billboard reported that Minaj deactivated her account on Oct. 20. While she didn’t provide an explanation at the time, she was and still is active on X, where she currently boasts over 25.6 million followers.
Soon after deactivating her IG, Minaj remained extremely active on X, where she shared an AI-generated image of Jay-Z in a pink wig, slammed Charlamagne Tha God, and alleged that Gucci Mane’s wife, Keyshia Ka’Oir, has been “trying” to be like her “for years.” Minaj has been beefing on and off with all three celebrities for some time now.
As for Minaj’s appearance at AmericaFest, it was quite the surprise. The Queens native has been publicly espousing conservative values for some time now, with her recently pushing back on Newsom's support of trans children, speaking on her newfound involvement in politics, and more.
