Ne-Yo’s polyamorous lifestyle has been making headlines since last year.

In a new episode of the BagFuel podcast, the “So Sick” singer addressed critics and those "hating on" his relationship with three women.

“The problem that exists is not my problem. It's their problem,” Ne-Yo said around the one-minute, 44-second mark in the video below.

“You mad. I'm not mad. I'm smiling. I'm good," he continued. "I wake up every morning with the biggest smile, ear to ear, every morning. You mad. You asking these questions and wondering what the hell is going on with me. Meanwhile, I'm just living my life. If you don't like what you see, look the fuck away. It's really that simple. It blows my mind that people spend so much of their time hating on me.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, he admitted that while his love life isn’t typical, it’s not the most interesting part of his life. The 46-year-old said his 20-plus-year career and multiple accolades are much more compelling than his polyamorous relationship.

“I understand it's not a regular thing to be so open and willing to talk about it. I get that. So, I understand. But at the same time, people are making it the only thing that there is to talk about when it comes to me. And that is insulting,” he said.

“I've been here for 20 plus years, and I'm still here,” he continued. “I have multiple hits. I've done things. I've won Grammys. … There's stuff to talk about. But all that people see is, ‘Ne-Yo got three girlfriends.’ … What else though? Let's talk about some of this other stuff that I've done.”

Last week, Ne-Yo appeared on Sherri and described the arrangement as “one relationship with three people.”

He explained that while he's allowed to engage with multiple women, his girlfriends cannot have other boyfriends, though he didn’t initially ask for exclusivity.

"I deal in partnership as opposed to ownership," he said. "I don't want to own you. I don't want to possess you. I want to partner in this, and we can partner and work it out that way. But if the exclusivity is mine, then it's mine, damn it. You ain't giving it to nobody else."

Ne-Yo has seven kids, three of whom he shares with ex-wife Crystal Renay. He also shares two children with Monyetta Shaw-Carter and two children with Sade Jenea Bagnerise.

He and Renay finalized their divorce in 2023. Two years later, he publicized his polyamorous lifestyle and introduced the world to his girlfriends, who included four women at the time.
