Ice Spice has unleashed her new single, "Thootie," featuring Tokischa — you can listen to it above.
Produced by frequent collaborator RIOTUSA, the song marks the first time the Bronx rapper has rapped in Spanish on a track. Blending Ice's signature drill sound with dembow rhythms, it hears both artists trade bars in English and Spanish throughout.
"This was a fun record for me," Ice Spice said in a statement. "It's the first time people are actually hearing me speak or rap in Spanish, and it was fun to show another side of who I am, and it's even more special that I got to do it with Toki. We went to the Dominican Republic to shoot the video last month, and it was a vibe. I definitely felt at home."
The accompanying music video, directed by Richard Cordones with creative direction from Tokischa, was shot in the Dominican Republic last month.
"Thootie" follows Ice Spice's November release "Big Guy," an original track featured in Paramount Animation's The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, which hits theaters on December 19. The Grammy-nominated artist will also make her voice-acting debut in the film.
Last month, Ice Spice was included in a funny AI social media post shared by Ice-T.
The rapper and actor took to X to share an AI-generated image of himself, Ice Cube, Ice Spice and Vanilla Ice on an ice skating rink.
"Ok… Ai got us…. The ICE’s," he wrote, joking about the one thing all four artists share: the word "Ice" in their names.
Fans quickly chimed in. Some pointed out that the AI version of Ice Spice looked nothing like the rapper, while others unfortunately edited the group into Immigration and Customs Enforcement-themed imagery.
