Da Brat has had her ups and downs with her wife, Judy Dupart.
The couple chronicled their marriage in their new memoir and relationship guide, The Way Love Goes.
“It not only is a book about us, but it also is a love manual that gives insights on how we've been able to get through our challenges,” Dupart said of the book on Sherri.
When the host Sherri Shepherd asked what the pair learned about each other when writing the book, Da Brat said, snarkily, that she discovered Judy “don’t forget about some stuff that I thought we had let go of in the past.”
Brat’s comment prompted Dupart to say, “Why is you texting your ex that she got pretty feet?”
Shepherd was surprised and asked the rapper if she still keeps in touch with her exes.
“That was then. I don't know more,” Brat responded.
“Somebody sent me a picture of their feet, and I said it was pretty,” she added, explaining the situation. “But I didn't know. And it was an ex. But I didn't know it was going to offend my beautiful wife. Otherwise, I would not have did that. I lost my phone. My phone got thrown across the room, shattered into pieces. I couldn't make no phone calls. I will never do that again.”
In September, Brat made comments about cutting ties with exes, revealing on the We Sound Crazy podcast that she had been dating other people while getting to know Dupart.
"I had to end some situations," Brat said. "Anybody that's getting ready to date somebody and you know that that's your person, and you got other situations, you got to close out those situations."
Da Brat and Dupart said their I do’s in February 2022, and the rapper gave birth to their first child, a son named True Legend, in July 2023. Their book, The Way Love Goes, is out now.
