It seems that Bobby Shmurda is no longer enamored with Jay-Z.
During a livestream, Shmurda was asked whether Hov runs hip-hop, prompting a rant.
“Man, fuck them n****s, n***a,” Shmurda said. “Opp Nation. He don't run it,” he continued, referring to Jay.
Shmurda added, “I'll slap the shit out of Jay-Z, bitch n***a. … I don't fight, I shoot n****s.”
The 31-year-old also went on a tirade on his Instagram Story, per HotNewHipHop, slamming people for “stealing, cheating, and lying” for a billion dollars.
“Lesson come with blessing,” he reportedly wrote in the since-expired post. “Stealing cheating lying does not make you a Boss, Smart Or a businessman. I don't care if you did it for a billion dollars. You still a bum. Now my point is... if a crackhead steals some millions out the trap does that not make him a crackhead anymore? Or is he now a get money N***a? I mean, ok he got the money but come on Boss/businessman.”
Shmurda also ranted about the New York industry.
“This is the new New York,” he wrote. “They’ve been in the industry 25+ years y’all name one thing these motherfucker slid on or stood on.” He added, “We don’t play that rat shit we only approve of certain OG’s in Ny you know who you are.”
Shmurda didn’t directly name anyone or further clarify who he was calling a “rat.”
In August 2021, the drill rapper signed a management deal with Roc Nation just six months after being released from prison. According to Revolt, Shmurda and Roc Nation cut ties sometime the following year. In 2025, Shmurda called Jay’s entertainment company “Opp Nation” in a conversation with DJ Vlad.
In 2016, Bobby was sentenced to seven years for conspiracy to murder, weapons possession, and reckless endangerment charges, though he was released early for time served while awaiting trial.
