6ix9ine has recalled the time he apparently got his own back on Dave East after the New York rapper had previously made fun of his music.
Earlier this week, Tekashi sat down with No Jumper’s Adam22, where the rainbow haired rapper described being in the studio with East sometime around 2016.
"It's probably like, 16 people in the studio," 6ix9ine said (around the 26:25 minute mark in the video below). "Dave East puts me on the spot. … So I played, like, some metal rap. … Everybody just started laughing. The bitches I liked started laughing."
When Adam asked how that made him feel, 6ix9ine said, "N***a, I was hurt."
"Fast forward to 2018, 'GUMMO' comes out," he explained. "Me and A Boogie [Wit Da Hoodie] was going to meet La La Anthony for this kid event she does in New York. Dave East was [in] line to get in. He couldn't get in. I was like, 'Yo, you want to come in?' He was like, 'Yeah.' And I was like, 'Nah.'"
This was the first time 6ix9ine and Adam sat down in eight years, after a longstanding beef. The last time the pair spoke was in early 2017, when 6ix9ine thought the podcaster flaked on a follow-up interview. The Brooklyn native then chose to ignore Adam when he became successful. During their chat, 6ix9ine made it clear they’re cool.
"Even if we had our differences, you’re a pretty big reason I got signed," 6ix9ine said, referencing an appearance on No Jumper in March 2017, months before his breakthrough record, “GUMMO," launched his career.
"I feel like you’re almost giving me too much credit, because at that point you already had so much momentum," Adam replied. "You probably had 10 other labels that were trying to sign [you]."
