Shaboozey is heading back to the frontier—this time with a full cinematic vision. The genre-blending star has announced his next album, The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, a revenge-driven concept project set to arrive July 31, with its lead single “Born to Die” dropping April 24.

Per a report from Vibe, the upcoming release marks his first album since 2024’s Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, a breakout project that pushed him into the mainstream.

This new chapter leans heavily into storytelling, with early visuals teasing a burning Western town and a narrative built around multiple characters.

A voiceover in the album trailer hints at the stakes: “There’s a hefty price to pay for revenge,” setting the tone for what appears to be a continuous, character-driven arc.

Shaboozey’s rise has been anything but traditional. Known for blending country, Americana, and hip-hop, the Virginia-born artist built momentum through viral success and high-profile collaborations, including appearances on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter and a chart-topping run with “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”. His ability to bridge genres has positioned him as one of the most visible disruptors in modern country music.

In a statement, Shaboozey framed the new album as a creative evolution. “Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going was a journal entry and an opportunity for the world to get to know more about me as a person,” he said. “But now I want to show the world who I am as an artist and storyteller.”

He described The Outlaw Cherie Lee as “a Western about revenge told continuously through every song,” centered on a protagonist navigating themes of redemption, romance, and personal truth.

The project has been years in the making, with Shaboozey noting it went through “many iterations” before reaching its final form. As of this writing, however, the full tracklist and features remain under wraps.
