Yung Miami has downplayed a viral video that showed her criticizing a DJ in a club for doing what she called a “fucking trash” job.

In the video, which can be seen below, the City Girls rapper appeared to approach the DJ booth and take the microphone and put the DJ on blast in front of the entire club.

“You gotta turn that bitch up,” she said, calling the DJ’s mixing talents and song choices “fucking trash.” When the DJ attempted to play more music, she told him to stop and threatened to take over DJing duties herself. “I’m aggravated,” she continued, then called attention to Meek Mill in the crowd.

After the clip got shared on various social media accounts, including the Shade Room, Miami responded to the reactions and insisted that she didn’t mean anything by the abrasive moment. “It’s not what you do it’s how you do it,” she wrote in the comments. “I was litt tryna have fun I didn’t mean no harm. I’m in Miami tryna turn up another notch!!!!”

The mother of two has indicated that she’s been wanting to let loose a little more again recently. When fans of the City Girls praised the duo’s brief but prolific output, releasing three albums before disbanding in 2024, she suggested that fans waited too long to give the group their flowers. “I wanna be a yung hoe again!” she wrote in response to another fan praising their discography.

Following the release of their third album RAW, which was considered a commercial failure following their previous two records, Miami and JT announced plans to focus on their solo careers. JT has since released the solo mixtape City Cinderella, while Miami has dropped several singles but has yet to release a full-length solo studio project.
