Tyler, the Creator has joined a South DeKalb neighborhood's fight against a proposed data center hub, citing water contamination concerns.

In a since-expired post from his Instagram Stories, which can be seen below, Tyler shared a video that shows Rev. Keyanna Jones Moore addressing the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners, per Fox 5 Atlanta.

"Again, death to all data centers," Tyler wrote. "The growth of water contamination is insane. Shocked how this is even a convo but of course every official looks out for their own pocket linings."

He went on: "We as a whole might be too pussy and selfish to burn shit down and will just keep scrolling and scrolling and scrolling. Me included. Protest and calling some random congress number don't do shit. Neither does posting an Instagram story, I know. Insane insane insane."

In the clip shared by Tyler, Moore highlighted the issues with a proposed data center expansion in the South DeKalb community of Woodcock City.

"You have the facts about data centers and you want to ignore them because for some reason, you're upset because people understand what environmental racism is," Moore said in the video. "Your ordinance that you are proposing to approve is just like many of the tactics I see up here. Petty, asinine, and sophomoric. It does not protect us at all."

Earlier this month, DeKalb officials voted 5-2 to extend a development moratorium through September 30, buying time to assess utility strain and environmental consequences tied to the proposed data centers. The pause on the project was supported by incumbent commissioner Nicole Massiah, who faced off against Moore in a District 3 runoff election this week.
