Rick Ross has a plan in mind for when he plays some of his collaborations with Drake during the upcoming VERZUZ event with French Montana.
In a chat with Complex’s Jordan Rose ahead of the event, which is presented by Complex and Apple Music, it was highlighted that both Rozay and French have a lot of collaborations with Drake. Considering that Rozay has gotten into a beef with his former collaborator, famously dissing him on “Champagne Moments” in 2024, it’s unclear if he’ll play any of their tracks together, however.
“If I do, I’mma minus his vocals,” Ross replied. “If y’all want to sing it, you sing it. You know what I’m saying?” He was also asked if he was going to listen to Iceman when it arrives on May 15, whether it be for inspiration or to hear if Drake has “come back stronger” or not. “I mean, that would be cool,” Ross replied. “I ain’t mad at that. You let me know. Hit me in the DMs and let me know if that shit fire. We ain’t never been them type of n***as hating on a n***a that’s shining if some shit hot.”
Last month, Ross was asked during an interview in an episode of Thoughts In a Culli whether he’d be open to reconciling his friendship with Drake.
“Homie got a lot of issues he got to address. I’ma leave it right there,” he said. “Is it any potential of him being a real n***a? He gotta decide that.” He added that the situation between them is “unfortunate,” but he has no regrets about working with him in the past. “I’m a real n***a and being a real n***a, you never change your past. The music I’ve created in the past, I could never change. I enjoyed it and I’ma still enjoy it.”
