Ahead of the arrival of his new single "The Chosen One" next month, Kid Cudi shed some more light on his upcoming album, explaining why the previously heard Playboi Carti collaboration "Mr. Solo Dolo Part IV" won't appear on the project.

Fans have been speculating what Cudi has in store for his next full-length project, which he teased earlier this year as his best body of work so far. One person tweeted that "Solo Dolo IV" should appear on the record, to which Cudi responded, "He won't clear it which is very weak," adding that it's "okay becuz the shit I have on this album fuckin smacks and ur faces will melt."

Cudi performed "Mr. Solo Dolo IV" live in Paris in November of last year, and it's fair to say the song has been hotly anticipated ever since, especially after the success of their Whole Lotta Red team-up "M3tamorphosis."

The two rappers have another bit of interesting history, as one of Carti's most infamous leaks is his Young Nudy and Pi'erre Bourne collaboration "Pissy Pamper," which is otherwise known as "Kid Cudi" because of a reference to Cudder in one of the verses. After it surfaced online in 2019, another version of the song was previewed in late 2020 featuring vocals from Cudi himself. Due to an uncleared sample of Mai Yamane's 1980 track "Tasogare," however, "Pissy Pamper" was never officially released. RCA was unable to clear the sample ahead of the release of Nudy's 2019 album Sli'merre.

Cudi teased his next full-length effort earlier this year in a series of tweets and an Instagram Live stream in which he suggested fans weren't ready for what he's been cooking up. "Album this Fall. First singles this summer," he wrote. "The new chapter has begun... Ur not prepared man. We've reached a new level."

The first single from the project, "The Chosen One," drops on June 2. He has yet to announce a title for the album, which serves as a follow-up to last year's Entergalactic.
