Kid Cudi to Star in Zombie Movie 'Hell Naw' From the Lucas Brothers and Sam Levinson

Kid Cudi is set to star in a new zombie action-comedy written by The Lucas Brothers and produced by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson.

Deadline reports that Sony Pictures has acquired Hell Naw, which Cudi is attached to star in and produce through his Mad Solar banner. The project is in early development with comedians Keith and Kenny Lucas, who made their film writing debut with a story credit on 2021’s Judas and the Black Messiah. Levinson previously teamed up with Cudi for Malcolm & Marie, on which Cudi served as an executive producer. The two were also executive producers on Ti West’s pair of 2022 horror films, X and Pearl.

Plot details on Hell Naw remain under wraps for now, but it’s said to be set during Paris Fashion Week and will involve zombies. “This movie has been 5 years in the making. I am telling the world now, this film will fuck you up in all the best ways. I have been a horror fan since I was 7 years old,” said Mescudi upon announcing the project. “The first horror movies I ever saw were Night of the Living Dead and Evil Dead. And from that point on, I was hooked on the feeling of being frightened.

Cudi made his horror movie debut in X last year, and is also attached to executive produce its upcoming sequel MaXXXine. “I’ve been wanting to get into this world creating my own stories for a long time and now, and after years of working it out in my head, it’s finally happening,” he continued. “Sam, The Lucas Bros and myself have really crafted a tale we feel everyone who’s a fan of horror and comedy will enjoy. You will laugh, oh yes you will, but the horror aspect of this movie will really be something to see. You will be shook. I promise.”

In a post on Twitter, Cudi added, “We ain’t fuckin around out here baby!!!”
