Joe Budden Responds to Alleged Drake Diss: 'We're Gonna Have to Paywall'

On a leaked track believed to be from Drizzy's 'Iceman' album, the Canadian rapper appears to take shots at Budden, whom he's had problems with in the past.

Joe Budden has responded to some lyrics perceived to be aimed at him on an alleged Drake track floating around social media.

On Wednesday (May 13), during a chat hosted on X, Budden was joined by others discussing the alleged leak, which sees Drizzy seemingly take shots at the podcaster, as well as Kendrick Lamar, LeBron James, and Dr. Dre.

In the lyrics of the alleged leak, Drake appears to imply that he slept with a woman who was romantically involved with Budden.

"If he doing that, we’re gonna have to paywall,” Joe Budden, as heard in a clip circulating on social media. "If he’s doing that, we’re gonna have to pay-to-view. … I thought he was going to come with some bullshit, [but] if he’s going to do that on a project?"

In the alleged Drake leak, there’s some bars that refer to Budden’s history of sleepwalking, which was previously mocked by 50 Cent after he was unsuccessfully sued by his neighbors for sleepwalking in the nude and trying to enter their apartment.

"I watched this guy spasm with a puzzled face / Who knows which one of his bubble shaped tings I must’ve ushered through the double gates," lyrics on the alleged leak say. "Showed her the time of her life while broski having stomach aches / Hearing bout good times at lovers lake and send her back to you while you sleep walking naked in another state."

The leak is yet to be confirmed as legitimate, but it’s already sparking heated conversation online in the lead-up to the highly anticipated Iceman, which drops on Friday (May 15).

Before the album arrives, however, Drake is set to host the fourth episode of his Iceman livestream series.
