In his latest Instagram carousel post amid the wait for his new album Iceman, Drake shared a picture of a fan’s t-shirt that appears to playfully addresses the growing animosity he’s been facing in recent years.
The post in question is captioned, “Got this Barbie on my wrist where is Staci Doll,” and features multiple pictures of himself, his dad Dennis Graham, and an eye-grabbing t-shirt, assumedly worn by a fan.
“Hating Drake doesn’t make you deep,” the t-shirt reads.
Drake has been very active on social media recently, ahead of the release of his highly anticipated new album, Iceman. He’s already shared a few tracks from the record, including collaborations with Central Cee and Yeat, and several episodes of his YouTube livestream series titled after the project.
He hasn’t provided fans with a release date yet, but judging from what we’ve heard and the way he’s been behaving, it’ll undoubtedly address many of the beefs he’s found himself in over the past few years, potentially even his spat with Kendrick Lamar. It’ll serve as a follow-up his last solo album, 2023’s For All the Dogs, and his PartyNextDoor collaborative album, Some Sexy Songs 4 U.
Drake’s latest playful post comes not long after U.S. District Judge Jeannette Vargas dismissed his defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group over the release of K Dot’s 2024 song, “Not Like Us.” In the track, Kendrick infamously rapped, “Say Drake, I hear you like ‘em young,” and, “Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophiles.”
Vargas said that the diss song did not classify as defamation, because in a “heated public debate,” like a rap beef, it’s expected that there would be hyperbole and epithets, and they aren’t actionable because they cannot be objectively proven false or true.
