In anticipation for his new project with Def Jam Recordings and Mass Appeal Records, Dave East has shared a new two-song release entitled Survival Pacc.
The Harlem rapper has teamed up with Gunna for "Everyday," and the legendary Max B for "Wanna Be a G." The two tracks show Dave East's versatility, effortlessly switching between introspective storytelling and more-direct rap bangers. Survival Pacc acts as a prequel to the harlem rapper's highly-anticipated debut album, Survival, which is scheduled to drop sometime this fall.
Survival isn't the only big project that East has in the near future, as he was cast as Method Man in Hulu's biographical mini-series, Wu-Tang: An American Saga. Produced by RZA and Alex Tse, An American Saga tracks the early days of the iconic NYC group's rise in the world of hip-hop.
In fact, Method Man himself was eager to have East portray him in the series. "When I seen Dave's name in the pot I was like, 'yeah he's just like me. He wants to be an actor, fuck it, give him a shot,'" he explained. The 10-episode drama is set to premiere on Hulu on Sept. 4.
