Chicago rapper Adamn Killa, real name Adam Kelly, was detained and placed in handcuffs after he approached cops and told them, “Arrest me, daddy.”
As reported by the Chicago Sun-Times, Killa had posted several videos where he would dare cops to arrest him, then put his hands around his head and behind his back. The rapper, who boasts over 1.2 million followers on TikTok and 770,000 on Instagram, posted multiple viral videos, and was joined by fans in some of the clips.
On Monday (Nov. 10), the police handcuffed Adamn and briefly detained him for allegedly interrupting a traffic stop in downtown Chicago by telling them, “Arrest me, daddy.” He was held for approximately 20 minutes before he was released without charges. Just hours after the incident, he had already posted a video of the incident.
“I got out and I went and made more ‘Arrest me, daddy’ videos right after,” he said, while noting that he won’t interrupt police duties again. Despite the inherently absurd nature of the videos, he said that he taunted police with the same during the ICE raids in Chicago as a form of protest.
“How they be covering their face and shit, I feel like in the future, they gonna look at them like how they looked at, like, the Nazi soldiers,” he added. “Because they know what they be doing wrong. That’s why they cover their face and they be covering their badges and stuff.”
The 29-year-old rapper has garnered a lot of attention on social media recently, thanks to a series of videos that start with him yelling something like, “If your name starts with an S, this is for you.” He’s currently managed by Taylor Bennett, Chance the Rapper’s brother.
